Bailey Creek Bridge (2019-2020)
Inspection and Rehabilitation Design
County of Simcoe – Adjala Tosorontio, Ontario
The Bailey Creek Bridge was constructed in 1969. It is a single-span bridge which measures 15.4 metres in span length and has an overall structure width of 11.1 metres. The bridge is located on County Road 1, in the Township of Adjala-Tosorontio. Doug Dixon and Associates Inc. was retained by the County of Simcoe to undertake a detailed deck condition survey, structural evaluation, and the preliminary/detailed rehabilitation design. The recommended solution was to replace the deck as the deck was found to be too deteriorated to rehabilitate and a life cycle cost analysis indicated that it was more cost-effective and provided improved load capacity to replace the entire superstructure. Doug Dixon and Associates Inc. completed the Environmental Assessment, Preliminary Design, Detailed Design, Contract Preparation and Tendering Assistance and the Construction Administration and Inspection. The Contract was awarded in April 2020.
