Twenty Culvert Rehabilitations

City of Toronto – Toronto, Ontario

Doug Dixon and Associates Inc., as a subconsultant to WSP Canada, undertook the rehabilitation design of seven (7) of twenty (20) culverts, located in the North York and Scarborough areas of the City. The culvert repairs consisted of patching, waterproofing and reconstruction of the parapet walls. Four (4) of the seven culverts required complete replacement. Doug Dixon and Associates Inc. undertook project management, structural design of the repairs/replacements as well as preparation of the Contract Documents. Doug Dixon and Associates Inc. also obtained all permits and undertook a liaison with various utility companies including Toronto Hydro. Two (2) of the seven culverts are under rehabilitation/replacement in the 2019 construction season with the remaining five (5) culverts replaced in 2020. The entire project is to be completed in three (3) construction seasons.
