FOXRIDGE DRIVE OVER MASSEY CREEK (2019 – 2021)
REHABILITATION OF CULVERT No. 921
City of Toronto – Toronto, Ontario
Doug Dixon and Associates Inc. (DDA), as a subconsultant to WSP Canada, undertook the replacement of Culvert No. 921 Foxridge Drive over Massey Creek in the City of Toronto. The existing concrete open-footing culvert was replaced with a larger precast concrete open-footing culvert for structural reasons and to accommodate future increases in storm flow due to climate change. DDA undertook project management, detailed structural design, preparation of the tender documents, and construction administration. DDA was responsible for managing various stakeholders and seeking permits and approvals during design and construction. DDA worked with external agencies such as the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority and Toronto Hydro over the course of this project. Replacement of Culvert No. 921 was tendered in June of 2020 as part of City of Toronto Contract 20ECS-TI-04BE. Construction of the culvert reached substantial completion at the end of March 2021.
REHABILITATION OF CULVERT No. 944, REESOR ROAD OVER ROUGE TRIBUTARY
City of Toronto – Toronto, Ontario
Doug Dixon and Associates Inc. (DDA), as a subconsultant to WSP Canada, undertook the replacement of Culvert No. 944 Reesor Road over Rouge Tributary in the City of Toronto. The existing two-cell corrugated steel pipe culvert was replaced with a precast concrete open-footing culvert for structural reasons and to accommodate future increases in storm flow due to climate change. DDA undertook project management, detailed structural design, preparation of the tender documents, and construction administration. DDA was responsible for managing various stakeholders and seeking permits and approvals during design and construction. DDA worked with external agencies such as the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority and Toronto Hydro over the course of this project. Replacement of Culvert No. 944 was tendered in June of 2020 as part of City of Toronto Contract 20ECS-TI-04BE. Construction of the culvert reached substantial completion in November 2020.
REHABILITATION OF CULVERT No. 340, SHEPPARD AVENUE OVER BLACK CREEK

Doug Dixon and Associates Inc. (DDA), as a subconsultant to WSP Canada, undertook the replacement of Culvert No. 340 Sheppard Avenue over Black Creek in the City of Toronto. The existing two-cell corrugated steel pipe culvert was replaced with a larger two-cell precast concrete box culvert for structural reasons and to accommodate future increases in storm flow due to climate change. Construction was completed in stages to maintain traffic in the arterial roadway above the structure. DDA undertook project management, detailed structural design, preparation of the tender documents, and construction administration. DDA was responsible for managing various stakeholders and seeking permits and approvals during design and construction. DDA worked with external agencies such as the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority and Toronto Hydro over the course of this project.
REHABILITATION OF CULVERT No. 127, DANFORTH ROAD OVER WEST HIGHLAND CREEK

Doug Dixon and Associates Inc. (DDA), as a subconsultant to WSP Canada, undertook the replacement of Culvert No. 127 Danforth Road over West Highland Creek in the City of Toronto. The existing two-cell concrete box culvert was replaced with a larger two-cell precast concrete box culvert for structural reasons and to accommodate future increases in storm flow due to climate change. Construction was completed in stages to maintain traffic in the arterial roadway above the structure. DDA undertook project management, detailed structural design, preparation of the tender documents, and construction administration. DDA was responsible for managing various stakeholders and seeking permits and approvals during design and construction.
